Hi Joe,
Had the report shared exactly what I said to the lawyer, this is what I told to him: ”I was UNCOMFORTABLE being in now two meetings with Mr. Perrone when I had filed a complaint and it had not been addressed yet”. I also stated that “because I was uncomfortable, my senses were heightened since I told HR that being in meetings with Mr. Perrone gave me anxiety and made me very uncomfortable”. I also stated that because of this, I felt “aquatics was being picked on.“ I never stated Larry was yelling at me in this meeting. In regards to your statement saying “I may not want to hear this” everyone is entitled to their opinion. I FELT HOW I FELT and no matter what anybody says, it’s true to me. In fact, Mr. Neary agreed with me. But I don’t see that part of the results in this report along with much other things. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Colby. Association members have very little knowledge as to what went on during various meetings where you alleged Larry Perrone treated you in a disrespectful way or yelled at you. However, one of your charges, as detailed in the lawyer's report, was Item 8: "On January 19, 2021, Ms. Phillips attended a public budget meeting. She reported Mr. Perrone picked on her department specifically in a manner to target her. She recalled feeling like Mr. Perrone was again speaking to her in a condescending and demeaning fashion." As it turns out that meeting is available on video. I have watched the entire segment where you presented budget info, about an hour total of conversation about Aquatics and your other budget areas at the time. I know you may not want to hear this, but I came to the conclusion that Larry Perrone did not talk to you in a "condescending and demeaning fashion" during that meeting. I don't think many reasonable people can watch the video and come to any other conclusion and may thus question what actually transpired at the other meetings mentioned in your charges. In fact, Larry Perrone was addressing an area of concern for every association member -- the projected Aquatics operational loss of perhaps $400,000 in the current fiscal year, and your proposed budget that at the time apparently showed a similar operational loss projection for the coming fiscal year. Those are massive losses and the board was correct to raise concerns. I am providing the board video below for association members to view and determine for themselves if Larry Perrone spoke to you in "a condescending and demeaning fashion." |
