Thanks for such a thoughtful response.
As I have written -- I believe there is a core group of individuals who want to see Viola replaced and want to see a new board majority who will have control of that selection. I think the group also sees Stuart Lakernick as an important addition to the board in order to accomplish the goal. I believe at least two current board members are aligned with the agenda, Parks and Janasek. How many association members would favor such a majority is something I do not know. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What would Ocean Pines be without the drama on the Board of Directors? I tend to agree with Mark that we should move on but it seems that neither Esther Diller nor Colby Philips is going to let things go so easily. My intuition is that the current advocacy group on Facebook has more to do with the general management and direction of the Board. After all, there seems to be a kerfuffle about short-term rentals. It also seems that the GM left Colby twisting in the wind by not becoming involved in something that is clearly (to me) under his purview. I have never read the formal job description of the GM's duties but I can't believe it includes abdicating oversight and management responsibilities to the Board. If that's the case, he has a very cushy job, indeed. The referendum is coming up, the short-term rental issue is raising some dust and the Board election is coming up as well. Lots of stuff on the plate that needs to be resolved. My guess, though, is that the Board is fond of playing at Washington-like politics and I'm not holding my breath until anything good happens. |
