Have you raised children? I’ve raised 5. No lectures on when , how, etc. teens begin start exploring their sexuality. And since when does this belong in a library anyhow? I also have 9 grand grandchildren. I really would take 1000 Dr.Seuss books to any of this Woke stuff. Please point out the worst of the Seuss Line? Literature does not have to be filthy. I heard a reading at a school board meeting from the mother of a middle school child. Do you agree with this type of ‘woke’ literature? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The LGBTQ+ Voices books are not about sex. They're about sexuality and identity, which teens start exploring long before they become sexually active. Vetted literature from LGBTQ+ voices and the eight other voices represented in the program -- African American, Asian American, Diverse Abilities, Female, Hispanic American, Immigration, Native American and Poverty and Homelessness -- give teens a safe and healthy outlet for sorting out who they are and where they fit in. And just as importantly, for understanding the experiences of people who are different than they are and have points of view that differ from their own. Isn't that what we've always relied on literature to do? |
