but what was quoted by Sherrie as her mission for her group would make having directors in the group seem counterproductive.
So what? Much ado about nothing. In over 30 years of watching OPA boards and OPA politics, I have watched many claim to know how to “fix” whatever OPA ills they perceive. All have failed. Truth be told, in most instances they made things worse. My probably feeble, perhaps impossible, suggestion? Change the governing documents so that the board has a single authority - hire and fire a GM. Either action takes a super majority. No meetings other than to hire or fire a GM. GM holds a monthly town hall to tell board and association members what he or she is doing. Board members each get five minutes to ask GM questions. Association members present each get 10 minutes to ask GM questions. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree to the fact that anyone can join any group but what was quoted by Sherrie as her mission for her group would make having directors in the group seem counterproductive. “To eliminate the possibility of corruption.” She says her group will act, “So these guys can’t just run rampant.” It also says the leaders of some Group Two committee, "will work with the OP HOA Board of Directors to ensure that board activities, financials, and decisions are transparent and monitored at the molecular level." The word pretentious comes to mind. |
