Joe, we are not miles apart. My problem is that there is nothing in our governing documents that entitle the HOA board of directors to perform any law enforcement duties.
We can’t make up rules as we go. i don’t condone verbal abuse but if something like this happens again and neither of the two parties are associated with the HOA, will you or anyone else be seeking a ban on amenities? What if they aren’t residents. Are we going to maintain a little black book containing a copy of everyone’s ID that ever had too much to drink and got into an argument with someone else? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Gary, you and I are miles apart on this, as from my point of view the fact that this incident was between a board member and a resigned board member is 100% irrelevant. OPA, as owner of that establishment, has every interest in any such incidents on OPA property, for board members, association member, guests, or the general public. Your statement seems to indicate yelling obscenities in the face of any YC patron is perfectly fine so long as there is no “physical interaction.” |
