Did anyone say it was a bad thing? Candidates have been buying the list for decades - even prior to social media. It is a smart thing to do. 

Of course this mailing was credited as coming from a Facebook social media site. 

By the way, given your concern over board amenity use, the money spent on these mailings could almost pay for amenity use of two board members.
