thanks Joe. We purchsed a home here in 2015 and my wife (different last name) took out the mortgage since she qualified for certain savings. We moved permanently 1.5 years ago. So i am on the deed with her now. Hope that answers your question about my ability to join the discussion. Do members in good standing have to be on the deed, wouldn't that be proof of ownership?
"OPA's only source of money is from association members. If board members were personally responsible how many people do you think would run for the board?" i get your responce, but my point is that we have/are paying for lawsuits without the ability to question, (if that is the correct word) the board's actions which occured in a secret meeting until after the fact . Is our only recourse to wait and vote them out? Since I am relatively new, what can be recommended to stop the board from taking such actions in the future with impunity? thank you |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Ken. Looking at your forum posts it looks like you are a big supporter of Rick Farr, and suggested he should be the OPA president. I suggested that as well. I don't see you listed in the Ocean Pines telephone directory. Are you a lot owner in Ocean Pines? No man, woman, or child should be subjected to the abuse as described by the eye witness. I agree. Do the management at the YC have the ability or right to request someone to leave and the ability to call the police who are trained in that area and did they? I don't think the police became involved until the following day. At this point, I have no idea what OPA management can or can not do based on our current governing documents. Doesn't the woman have the right to file a civil suit aganst TJ since a police report would be available and why did the controlling board members decide to act out of, my opinion only, emotion and dislike for TJ. No idea. Do association members have to pay for legal mistakes for lost court cases? Are any board members accountable personally? How is this captured in the budget reporting- legal expenses? I also support local council since it's been proven Common Sense isn't always applied. OPA's only source of money is from association members. If board members were personally responsible how many people do you think would run for the board? |
