If you want to restore trust in the election process don't have the name on the ballot return envelope. There is no need for it. There appears to be a code under my name -- don't need the name. I never recall my name being on the envelope. Obviously, I am not the only resident upset about this. Social media, emails to the Board, the Election Committee and Administration show that this is a problem for many people. I have been told that residents called (and visited Administration) confused because there was only one name on the envelope and they asked if only one person could vote, or if another ballot for the co-owner would be coming.
There are plenty of reasons not to trust the election process from last year. Introducing new, non-necessary reasons isn't helping. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: the right of that is the owner's name (or husband's name) It is the first name of any multiple owners as listed when purchased. Homeowners found having their name on the ballot unnecessary. And therefore decided unilaterally to cross it out? I do not recall names ever being on return envelope but seems to me anyone crossing out information on a return envelope for an election is very foolish. Seem foolish as well to suggest the name would be used in some sinister board plot to tell the contractor to dump certain ballots, as you and Sherrie suggested. Valid concerns wrapped in nonsense do more harm than good. |
