Joe ~ My message was written to wish our awesome Ocean Pines community and committee members a wonderful Thanksgiving…..nothing more. Parts of my message to our community resonated with me deeply and I thought they could express my thoughts effectively. There was zero intention to plagiarize anything. I do hope all our residents had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. It is ashame that we have such divisive and hateful individuals in our community. All the best Rick |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Apparently there is no holiday cease fire for the Ocean Pines Facebook wars. A supporter of group One decided to hang ornaments on the White Horse Park Christmas tree of group Two . The ornaments were intended to mock one or more members of group Two. A photo of the mocking tree was posted to Facebook. Then, perhaps in revenge, someone removed the identification sign from the tree of group One. As if all this was not enough nonsense for the holiday season, there are reports the extremely well-written OPA Thanksgiving message posted to Facebook and OPA’s website was nearly 100% plagiarized from a Thanksgiving message written days earlier by a college president on the college’s website. |
