The County decided not to go ahead with that plan so Ocean Pines is using potable water to irrigate the course.
You use the term "potable water." Potable water, also known as drinking water, comes from surface and ground sources and is treated to levels that that meet state and federal standards. Your comment is incorrect. OPA does not use "potable water" for irrigating the golf course. The only potable water in Ocean Pines is delivered via the county drinking water system towers. The water going on the OPA golf course is not delivered via the County drinking water system. You also conveniently do not mention the very important issue of who controls the golf course land if OPA had agreed to allow the county to install the facilities to irrigate the golf course with sewage effluent. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Glen Riddle Golf Course uses effluent to water. That was the plan for Ocean Pines and involved a $400,000 pipe to get the effluent to the golf course. The County decided not to go ahead with that plan so Ocean Pines is using potable water to irrigate the course. |
