For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: As I recall from my research in 2020 regarding the effluent project, our wastewater treatment plant does a great job treating the waste. The effluent looks clear enough to drink. The concept of direct potable reuse is popular in many areas with water shortages, but is involves an even more rigorous treatment process and constant regulatory oversight. As far as I know, the effluent is not mixed with any potable water. Glen Riddle appears to have enough effluent not to need to use potable water in order to irrigate their golf course. This was going to be the same situation in Ocean Pines had the effluent project gone forward. This new claim of the south aquifer being low is worrisome; however, it could very well be unfounded. I am hoping that we get more details from public officials regarding this. I am sending off some emails requesting information. |
