The first release a few days ago said: “Due to critically low water tables, Worcester County Public Works crews are asking all residents and visitors within the Riddle Farm and South Ocean Pines areas to discontinue all non-essential outdoor and indoor water uses until further notice.”
Today the county tells us all is now ok. Do they think we are idiots? Critically low water tables are no longer critically low after three days with no rain? This is like a Saturday Night Live skit. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Lifted: Emergency Water Conservation Measures No Longer in Effect for Riddle Farm and South Ocean Pines Snow Hill, Maryland (June 24, 2024) – The emergency water conservation measures that were enacted Saturday in the Riddle Farm and South Ocean Pines areas have been lifted. Residents and visitors are now able to resume all indoor and outdoor water activities. “Over the weekend our crews repaired electrical issues associated with two well pumps in Ocean Pines and corrected an issue with four valves,” Public Works Director Dallas Baker said. “The south water tower has reached and is continuing to maintain sufficient levels, even with irrigation activities continuing. We want to thank everyone who took the conservation efforts seriously and turned off their irrigation systems and reduced their water consumption. That partnership played a key role in helping to restore adequate water levels in the tower.” Anyone seeking additional information may contact 443-783-0039 (Ocean Pines) or 443-783-0041 (West Ocean City). |
