For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Coming back from offshore fishing on a clear day one can easily see the ocean city skyline of buildings at ten miles out. The Bassgrounds are at around 10 miles. Tops of tall buildings may be somewhat visible on a very clear day. Probably better from a flying bridge. I recall one foggy day when I could not see the beach until almost on the beach as I came in via radio directional finder in a 20-foot SeaRay from the Baltimore Canyon and ended up between the north jetty and the pier. Slowed to a near halt to take a better bearing and heard the strange sounds of what soon turned out to be people. |
