The Bassgrounds are at around 10 miles. Tops of tall buildings may be somewhat visible on a very clear day. Probably better from a flying bridge.

I recall one foggy day when I could not see the beach until almost on the beach as I came in via radio directional finder in a 20-foot SeaRay from the Baltimore Canyon and ended up between the north jetty and the pier. Slowed to a near halt to take a better bearing and heard the strange sounds of what soon turned out to be people.
