I know OPA asks for proposals every time a garbage collection contract is about to expire. 
For much of recent history, OPA self-managed food and beverage - with terrible financial results, for the most part. All the board is doing is seeking proposals from management firms since the current contract is set to expire next year. The board is doing its due diligence as is its obligation under the member/approved bylaws. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Knowing little about the current and history of OPA and its contracts, would it be out of OPA norm to not put out an RFP on the food service contract? For example, we must have a contract for boat fuel for the Yacht Club Marina. Does OPA routinely put out an RFP when the current contract is due to expire? |
