It also gives the board some possible leverage in negotiations. As long as board members keep the results quiet during the negotiations. That might be a real challenge. Better to let the GM conduct all negotiations in private. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I know OPA asks for proposals every time a garbage collection contract is about to expire. For much of recent history, OPA self-managed food and beverage - with terrible financial results, for the most part. All the board is doing is seeking proposals from management firms since the current contract is set to expire next year. The board is doing its due diligence as is its obligation under the member/approved bylaws. |
