Over the six (6) years since the Slobodan proposed referendum our golf operations has cost our membership over One Million Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,684,548.00) in losses.
Marty, keep telling yourself that story. Pure speculation, but I suspect, with what is now going on with the Ocean Pines golf course, most association members would refer OPA ownership. And, of course, that $1,684,548.00 in loses includes depreciation. Now, as the course looks to be heading in the direction of profit after depreciation, that number may decline. Regardless, selling that entire course would be a major mistake. The value in OPA owning that property far exceeds the loss you mention. To place in perspective - that would be an average of $280,758 per year. Translating to around $33 a year per association members. I will pay $33 a year to maintain OPA ownership of that valuable property and amenity. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: May I quote Paul Harvey ”now you know the rest of the story”? Over the six (6) years since the Slobodan proposed referendum our golf operations has cost our membership over One Million Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,684,548.00) in losses. This doesn’t include the cost of the new irrigation system being installed as we speak. How’s that for “disastrous results“? Had the OPA accepted the offer from Freeman Golf for Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) we would be well ahead financially and still have our Robert Trent Jones golf course. “Now you know the rest of the story”!
