The offer from Seacrets was not a sale, it was only a modification of our existing lease agreement. Seacrets offered us $1,000,000.00 cash to extend the term to 99 years. Basically added $10,000 a year to the rent in today’s dollars. OPA not accepting the offer from Seacrets was one of the dumbest business decisions I’ve ever heard of. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: “I will pay $33 a year to maintain OPA ownership of that valuable property and amenity.” That is your personal opinion. Like it or not the Slobodan referendum would have indicated the majority opinion. Beat that drum all you like. OPA owns the golf course and hopefully will never sell it for the expediency of maybe getting $1.6 million that would disappear overnight. Same goes for your supported idea of giving away the bayside OPA property in Ocean City to Seacrets for maybe $1 million. OPA is in perpetuity. Short-sighted selling of our real estate for short-term monetary expediency would be foolish. |
