nope. there's good reason for players to show up and protest. when all other OP fees are raised by 12% or less of course you're going to get a big turnout when they want to raise fees for many racquet members by 52% and that's after a 10% increase from the year before for a 62% increase. that's outrageous. and nope to nothing but controversy! pickleball has brought a lot of money to the racquet center and OP - you're welcome - in addition to bringing community members together for social activity and keeping seniors active. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Who would have guessed? Based on the Town Hall attendance, it seems the only OPA budget issue of any importance is racquet sports. The arrival of pickleball about 10 years ago has brought nothing but controversy and protests to the racquet center. Protests continue even after the board, quite properly, dumped the racquet sports committee about a year ago. Going to a single racquet center membership is the right thing to do. |
