wow, rude. and clearly you're not a pickleball player. the beauty of the sport is how social it is and people coming from all over makes it much better for all players, brings in money for our racquet center, and is a big asset for our community - pickleball players look for good courts when they consider buying property.
we have already lost many delaware players that used to come play on our courts because the drop in fees have been raised every year. new courts are popping up everywhere and a number of them are free to use so many players are going elsewhere. and with the new proposed rate, many more will join them decreasing the quality of pickleball play at OP. Pickleball is being used to make tennis and paddle break even - pickleball makes money - yet we are being targeted for a 52% increase after a 10% increase from the year before. that's wrong. maybe they should try to find ways to increase membership for tennis and paddle. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: He also voiced concern that the drop-in fee increase from the current $8 to $10 for OPA members and from $11 to $13 for non-residents could cause people to go to other facilities in the area. So go elsewhere! The proposed fee schedule attempts to put racket sports at a break even point. It's not fair for everybody to support a few.....this argument has been going on as long as I have been an owner, 1995. |
