i'd hate to have to go elsewhere to play with my friends who will no longer be playing here.
I suppose you will simply need to find another location to play pickleball. That will involve driving time, not to mention trying to find a good facility at a cost less than what OPA is offering. Do you and others upset with OPA pricing have a nearby facility in mind that offers what OPA offers and at a lower fee than OPA? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I'm surprised by terry underkoffer's extremely biased research. as amy peck pointed out, he compared our fees to racquet centers that are so far and away above the quality of what OP is offering. comparing our fees to those that include items such as country club use, indoor court facilities, pools and locker rooms, fitness centers, bars, billiards, etc. terry's not even close to comparing apples to apples. his data needs to be thrown out as it is beyond misleading. terry talks about how this encourages people to play more than one sport. over 260 people responded to the survey and 84% do not want to play more than one sport. stop pushing something they do not want. pickleball brings in the most money, so why are those players having to face the biggest increase in rates? i believe jim ferguson said it best, “under-performing sports programs should have a plan to minimize deficits rather than increasing fees on the most successful program.” it's outrageous to raise rates 52% (after a 10% increase from the previous year, so 62%). |
