What do you think the reason is for the decline of public language ?
No idea, really, but the decline has really accelerated in the last 10 years or so. When I read the now-closed/private Gavin Facebook site, I was surprised at the number of women and teens who used vulgar language in their public writing. Even politicians now resort to vulgarity regularly in their public comments. Certainly nothing I can control, other than here.
