Ed:
I would like a better explanation for the existing $9.2 Million Dollar deficit. How long a period of time has this debt been accumulating? I am betting this didn’t happen overnight. If I heard correctly the 11 or so different sewer districts are looking at a $2.1 Million Dollar deficit in the next budget cycle and Ocean Pines deficit is approximately $186,000. OK, sounds like we owe around $22.00 per rate payer, or about $5.50 a quarter. Not a big deal until you try to figure out what the increase is going to be for the 186 rate payers in Newark. I would think the retirement of these shortfalls could be fairly calculated easily. Each district is responsible for their own costs and their own costs only. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Let us not forget the dropped rake incident that caused rate payers to pay higher charges for many quarters because the effluent discharge quality was affected. Clearly the work of a County employee who failed to report the incident which would have fixed the problem quickly |
