Each district is responsible for their own costs and their own costs only
Not according to Fiori. He and three others may just vote to change the law. and Ocean Pines deficit is approximately $186,000 $117,000 as I wrote. The $9.2 million deficit , again as I wrote, may go back many years. Much of the money was moved from reserves in West OC district to other districts losing money. The county Treasurer Office did not tell the commissioner, appatently. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ed: I would like a better explanation for the existing $9.2 Million Dollar deficit. How long a period of time has this debt been accumulating? I am betting this didn’t happen overnight. If I heard correctly the 11 or so different sewer districts are looking at a $2.1 Million Dollar deficit in the next budget cycle and Ocean Pines deficit is approximately $186,000. OK, sounds like we owe around $22.00 per rate payer, or about $5.50 a quarter. Not a big deal until you try to figure out what the increase is going to be for the 186 rate payers in Newark. I would think the retirement of these shortfalls could be fairly calculated easily. Each district is responsible for their own costs and their own costs only. Marty |
