Please email or write to the commissioners, and if you can attend the Public Hearing May 6th in Snow Hill at 6….our voices need to be heard.
Maybe I am wrong, but I view the above as a waste of time. Sorry. The commissioners desiring to rip off OP will only back off based on the potential of a court order to do so - assuming we end up with a valid legal case and standing against the County. Politically? They have no fear of OPA. None, |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Although folks are hearing about the $32 quarterly jump for 2026 most folks don’t realize that continued increases will follow, which will have all of us paying around $500 each that we don’t owe to satisfy the debt of others. Of the 8 districts in the negative, all except the ones in Fiori‘s district can most likely manage to pay their current shortfall, like Ocean Pines. The remaining 3 districts, River Run, West OC, and Lighthouse Sound, who are not in the red are having their reserve dollars in those funds taken from them towards the debt in addition to having to equally pay towards the debt service. How any county commissioner can approve this plan is beyond believable. I know Fiori has to try to get re-elected, however he and all other commissioners were elected to do the right thing for all county residents not just for those who vote them in. Chip and Jim are working hard to get the remaining commissioners to develop a plan that is fair. They need our help. Please email or write to the commissioners, and if you can attend the Public Hearing May 6th in Snow Hill at 6….our voices need to be heard. |
