OPA a big place just not enough votes if the rest of the County hangs together. I my past they always did
Ocean Pines lost political control when county-wide voting for Commissioners ended. It ended when the districts went from five to seven and a district was gerrymandered to extend from Berlin to Pocomoke to create a minority-likely winner district. The elimination of county-wide voting caused a dramatic change in Worcester's political landscape, far beyond giving a needed opportunity for Blacks to gain political office. |
