I don't believe they call, although I suppose they could. Might depend on how many valid total petition signatures are received. I think they just verify the lot owner signature is actually the owner of the lot listed with signature, that a lot is not counted for signing more than once. On the marina petition, Joe Moore tried to suggest each card be notarized and/or some sort of penalty of perjury clause. That didn't happen, and should not, in my view. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That argument is preposterous as OPA MUST check all signatures. How does OPA "check" the signatures? Does someone call the signees and ask them if they signed? What's the verification method? |
