Thanks for the information. Sounds like some of those answers may impact the value of the property or even the marketability. I still am pursuing the contracts. At the 11/4 town meeting Dan promised he would get back to me to let me know where I could review the contracts (where was my question, not if). Still no answer from Dan. I e-mailed him twice on the forum with no response. I believe his home email address is available. I will try that. He also said his phone number was available. I will try that. He said in front of all at the meeting that he would contact me. Since he has not, maybe anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. Why is he hiding the contract and by what authority? He is the source of his own rumors.

Why?

Putting together an auction information package and a good marketing program for a commercial piece of property is turning into a much more complex project than was originally anticipated. It is essential that we do this work in a thorough and professional fashion in order to bring out top dollar offers for the property. Questions like, “What are the storm water requirements for this property? What is the largest building envelope that can be put on the property given county requirements? What impact will various uses, as approved by the Board, have on traffic on Route 589 and will that be an issue in the sale? What is the availability of utilities for the site, and what limits are there on this availability? What terms and conditions will apply with this sale (including, but not limited to, the types of uses the Board approved)? Are there any potential deed issues that may already exist with regard to this property?” And so on.

Each of these questions – and what you see is not the complete list -- needs to be answered and nearly every one require the services of others in order to put the answer together. It is simply taking more time to assemble this information than any of us had thought. As soon as the information package is complete and a marketing program agreed to, a date for the auction will be set.
