Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Second CC referendum Msg# 432626

This week it came to light, the invasive inspection of the Community Hall that our prior Manager said was done, had never been done and the interim Manager did nothing as well while the Board stood by. Most the the non-maintenance or issues concerning the community hall can apparently be laid at the feet of the prior GM. I heard many stories, most on the Forum, that the BOD passed or approved things to be done or repaired or accomplished (which then becomes the responsibility of the GM) and the GM did nothing, and possibly just totally ignored directions from the BOD. As for the interim GM, it was his responsibility to keep OPA running smoothly until a new GM was hired. I don't think an interim or temporary GM should be undertaking any repairs (unless and emergency), and certainly no renovations of the old community hall, while being in a temporary position. It's now Olson's responsibility. Let's give him some time as I believe he has some higher priorities on his plate. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I don't believe what is to become of the old community hall should be lumped into the referendum for the new CC. There are so many potential uses for the old community hall that it would be a rush to judgment to try to decide something within the next month. We were told by the Board over 3 years ago that the roof would be repaired on the Community Hall and $250,000 was allocated for same. That was never done. I guess they didn't want to disturb the trees that were growing on the roof. This week it came to light, the invasive inspection of the Community Hall that our prior Manager said was done, had never been done and the interim Manager did nothing as well while the Board stood by. As I would say in Brooklyn they gotta stop screwing us around. Others may be more demanding and actually want the community hall lumped into the referendum. I would be satisfied with the proposed scenarios with price projections and time frames. If that information came from the mouth of Mr. Olson and endorsed by Bill and Ray it would help me make an informed decision. I am assuming that the referendum will include all the specific information as outlined by Gene Ringsdorf. No rush, they've had years. Just take another 30 days or so. |
