Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Second CC referendum Msg# 432687

Norm I am assuming that the referendum will include all the specific information as outlined by Gene Ringsdorf. I want to clarify my position that I am NOT advocating a vote on the existing community hall. I am just advocating that on an accompanying document to the official referndum, a probable range of dollars to rehab the existing community hall be supplied for information purposes. I believe the official referendum data should be confined to the new cc vote AND a statement that the interior lot will be sold regardless of the outcome of the CC vote. I just do not think OPA's efforts to sell those interior lots should stop if the new cc does not proceed. Those lots are a cash drain on OPA and should become assessment producing lots ASAP. Respectfully, Gene A member of the first place team in the Tuesday Morning Section of the Ocean Pines Bowling League of which you are the President but for the first time in 100 years your team is NOT in first place at this point in time. (Hopefully nothing will have changed by the Awards Banquet.) |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I don't believe what is to become of the old community hall should be lumped into the referendum for the new CC. There are so many potential uses for the old community hall that it would be a rush to judgment to try to decide something within the next month. We were told by the Board over 3 years ago that the roof would be repaired on the Community Hall and $250,000 was allocated for same. That was never done. I guess they didn't want to disturb the trees that were growing on the roof. This week it came to light, the invasive inspection of the Community Hall that our prior Manager said was done, had never been done and the interim Manager did nothing as well while the Board stood by. As I would say in Brooklyn they gotta stop screwing us around. Others may be more demanding and actually want the community hall lumped into the referendum. I would be satisfied with the proposed scenarios with price projections and time frames. If that information came from the mouth of Mr. Olson and endorsed by Bill and Ray it would help me make an informed decision. I am assuming that the referendum will include all the specific information as outlined by Gene Ringsdorf. No rush, they've had years. Just take another 30 days or so. |
