What about basing the taxes on the value of the lot? In a HOA I prefer that our assessments [basically local taxes] be spread among the lot owners equally. It is a fairer system than using a valuation method and more reflects actual usage of services. Of course there are waterfront differentials etc. Remember we do pay our County taxes based on valuation most of which is the lot. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jack, I have personally always believed that basing what one pays in taxes in a community based on the value of the home they decide to build or purchase is not a good system. What about basing the taxes on the value of the lot? Gary |
