Jack, People just need to pull up house listings in O.C and look at the county tax and the O.C tax then decide if they think we (OP) should be a municipality. I also believe that some sections of OP would elect to remain a HOA therefore paying a County tax, municipality tax and a HOA assessment. Only Dan The "Point Man" could convience others of how great a municipality would be. Robert. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: He said we could save ourselves a lot of money because of waterfront properties.....???? He is saying that as a municipality waterfront properties would pay taxes based on value. Since waterfront property is more valuable than non waterfront they would pay more. In other words see their taxes increase substantially. I have personally always believed that basing what one pays in taxes in a community based on the value of the home they decide to build or purchase is not a good system. |
