A prominent restaurateur from the Baltimore area, an association member, offered to lease the YC restaurant last March or so. He was not only rebuffed but treated shabbily by Olson and one or more board members at the time. The gentleman wrote of his experience here on the forum. Marty Clarke has the fellow's name and contact info; I'm not sure if the fellow has been contacted again or not. OPA has a management/leadership problem.. and it starts at the very top. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, I agree 100% that what is there now is not working or making money, from what I understand. It is my opinion that when it comes to spending money, the YC is still the jewel in the OPA. Perhaps a plan can be developed to expand and enhance the YC and perhaps partner with a third party company to develop the restaurant portion. A new restaurant could be coupled with other meeting facilities to have a popular and successful destination for OPA and perhaps the public. There are a lot of new and successful restaurants that have opened up in and around the area, any of these could have been located at the YC. If Riddle farm can get a Ruth's Chris, OPA should at least be able to get an Outback or equivalent. JMHO Bob Anderson |
