Dick, I spoke with Jim Crabel (sp?) over at Worcester Public Works and Jim said the permit fee paid by the builder covers the cost of the road cut by the County and proper patching of same. Thus, at this time the OPA taxpayers should not be paying anything to patch road cuts done by the County in connection with new home construction. However, I have seen OPA people repairing these cuts. Jim indicated the County does an initial temporary patch, then a private contractor is under contract with the county to make the final permanent patches. Jim indicated this permanent patching is done about twice a year. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, Dave Furguson and our advisory group have been working on the cut repair or lack thereof. This was being done by contract, I believe it will be done in house pretty soon.Dick |
