Where was that Rick, The community was Angola-By-The Bay in Lewes, De.. It was a second home built in 1977 and there was a faction that believed you did not have to spend all that money to maintain everything. The overriding theme was to keep the assessments low and they elected a board of directors to do just that. Then it got to be the full timers against the part timers. A great example was a motion to charge admission to the pools only on weekends and you swim free during the week. We did not like the stuff going on so we moved . There is a lot to be said for following your gut feeling and moving on. Bill |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I happened to have had a home years ago in another Boise Cascade community........ ...........they had a Board of Directors that was committed to not spend funds needed to upgrade the community and everything went into disrepair. That was in 1987 and to this day they have never recovered. Exactly. |
