Like it or not we, the membership, has to either pick up the loss generated by the operation on top of the capital expenses or shut it down and still have to pay for the capital cost as well as the on going maintenance which can cost more in an unused building as it cost us now. Ok, you basically are saying above that we either let the club mosey along like it is with in house managers or close it. Another option would be to lease it to outside management and at least break even. I have not necessarily been in favor of doing this in the past but one does wonder after a while if this may not be the better way to go. I am not sure if you have followed our former YC manager, now at the Village Inn, but it is interesting to note that when things were not going well initially either with the menu, pricing, chef etc. and it was affecting his own pocketbook, how fast changes were made. Meanwhile the YC is still trying to figure out what it should be. |
