Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Vote YES on YC Referendum Msg# 839970

Speak for yourself. When I left the board in 2010 after three years of service the Yacht Club had just enjoyed its best year in ten. We actually came within $15,000.00 of breaking even.
The above is one of the more humorous things I've seen in a long time. You now talk about how the YC did so well in the year you left the board but neglect to mention that Tom Olson, the man responsible for the low loss, was fired almost immediately afterwards and I believe you supported his dismissal. Incredible. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jeff: "but I see positive changes at the Club" "Positive changes"? Please help this old country boy understand what you are talking about. Retail sales are down from last July, bottom line performance is off by 48%, and last night the menu for dinner was the same old nothing. The closest thing to a premium bottle of beer was National Bohemian in a can. The only thing that could be considered a positive is the economic stimulus we provided to the surronding community with our over the top six figure payroll."It took us 40 years or do to screw it up" Speak for yourself. When I left the board in 2010 after three years of service the Yacht Club had just enjoyed its best year in ten. We actually came within $15,000.00 of breaking even. Those numbers are now in the rear view mirror and we are back up to just shy of $175,000.00 in losses before depreciation and after $100,000.00 in decorating. So, in reality, it only took us two years to "screw it up". Marty |
