John,
My favorite is plain old fashioned ribs with tomato type sauce. But I don't like the ribs with no meat on them. I see your pictures and wonder where in the world you get ribs with meat. I have tried various fancy rubs and other things and I guess I am not too good at that. So I purchase the sauce. But we think it is better than no ribs at all. I just slow cook them in the oven covered with foil, for a long time on low heat. I also like pulled pork butt , but I do it in the oven or even the slow cooker, I know, that is a sin, but that is the extent of my doing pulled pork. Years ago when I was a child and we traveled south on family vacations we always stopped at a place somewhere in NC ...I think. Must have been on Rte. 301 or Rte. 1 or something and the main drag on the way south, we were going south from Maryland or Michigan to Florida. Anyway, this famous place had chopped BBQ and it must have been the vinegar type but I don't remember it being as "harsh" as the vinegar type is to me today. We always got a sandwich and then a container or two to bring home. That was my only experience with BBQ for many years. The town was Green...something. And at the time many folks knew about it. I always enjoy your food posts. Sharon |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sharon I am with you on the tasting part. As to setting up a competition I will leave that to others as it can get very involved depending on how serious one wants to be. by the way what is your favorite BBQ? John |
