I'm not referencing any unfavorable information. What I said was "if unfavorable information may exist..."
Oh. So you have no information to indicate the board made a mistake or did not do due diligence. That places you in the same group as the GM. You just want to talk about "what if." Let's see, the GM, an employee of the board, comes to a public meeting and says the board did not do due diligence. Now, you are questioning if the board did or didn't. How would YOU determine whether the board did due diligence on this or not? Would your determination be a fact or an opinion? Obviously four of seven board members believe they did not make a mistake. Tom Terry was a part of the group that reviewed the finalists for board consideration. Are you suggesting Terry may not have done due diligence at that time? What exactly are you saying, other than a rather half-hearted attempt to defend an improper action by the GM? Look, Thompson's comments were the golf selection equivalent of Thompson saying, "Are you still beating your wife." Any answer is damning. It was an accusation, plain and simple, and one that he failed to provide a single factual reference for making. Thompson was grandstanding. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: What unfavorable information are you referencing? I'm not referencing any unfavorable information. What I said was "if unfavorable information may exist..." Unless the board did their due diligence in vetting Landscapes they would not know if such information existed. I didn't hear any board member say that an exhaustive process of vetting Landscapes had been accomplished. What I heard Mr. Stevens say was the decision has already been made to go with Landscapes so bringing up any further information that may bear on that decision was not appropriate, unless you bring it up in private. are you simply suggesting a witch hunt to find for anything unfavorable to Landscapes Unlimited? Of course not. I'm saying that the board should have accomplished due diligence when considering any of the applicants to run our golf course. If they did so, then great, if they did not then they need to accomplish that prior to entering into a contract with anyone. The bottom line here is to do the right thing in the best interest of the OPA members. That applies to the board as well as Mr. Thompson.
