Au contraire -- an eighth grade Catholic school education in the fifties is at least the equivalent of a Tier 1 college education today. Perhaps even a Masters today if one considers the basics of an educated person -- reading, writing, and arithmetic. Simply observe the intellectual level of Tier 1, 2 and 3 students on spring break. The amount of beer wasted in those funnel pour episodes is clearly a sign of lower intelligence after education. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Since my Institution of Higher Learning didn't make the Final 4, it has slipped to the less worthy Tier 3 status, it may even slip down to the level of an 8th grade parochial institution, Sister Felicia would indeed be proud of the association with such an institution. But we did learn to diagram a sentence, a seemingly lost art. |
