Oh my. Here we go with the strawman of hoards of noxious outsiders invading our parks. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe association members would be best served by a open space park winding throughout the community I assume this now 'open space' would be open to and accessible to all the general public, regardless of OPA residence? Open to all Worcester County, State of MD, USA legal/non-legal residents who happen to drive into Ocean Pines? Would access/parking be allowed everywhere along the course or just from the site of the now-defunct Country Club? What if any activities would be prohibited? One only has to visit the OC inlet parking lot during the summer season to see the various practices of groups frequenting the beach. In addition to hanging hammocks, group food festivities; and not being able to restrict certain 'religious/ethnic' beliefs, a group of adults smoking a hookah pipe. Other than obvious criminal activities, would the now-park be open to all types of activities? Most state/federal open space/park lands have rules and regulations, and enforcement. Would the manpower of OPA Police Dept have to be increased to provide patrols? A lot of questions and concerns..............not sure OPA has the 'thinktank' to handle such an opportunity |
