Thank you, my team is truly doing a good job. And yes the lower propane costs have been a huge Benefit (they were put in the current budget already showing that benefit as was the "parking money" so anything over, is again, straight revenue and managing of expenses). Aquatics started every fiscal year up until the current one in the negative running the beach club pool since there was very little revenue for it (4 grand a summer for daily paying guests) as pool passes were given away with parking, but there were many expenses to operate it (around 48 grand a year) So I believe that money "given" from parking starts us at a pretty good break even in regards to the beach club pool. You state the members should know the "truth", I don't believe anyone is hiding the fact of the parking money or the benefit of the lower propane costs. And when aquatics shows a break even or a profit, which at some point we will, you or anyone else can give whatever credit you would like to whomever or whatever you desire, but I have the facts and I know there are many contributing factors, the biggest being we are busier, offering more and managing better overall. Have a wonderful day! | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe the parking money is deserved by Aquatics. Perhaps even more than what you are now receiving. However, if management then makes bottom line comparisons with prior years that do not mention the $50,000 (or whatever is allocated from parking to Aquatics), then management is conning association members. While you and your team are doing a good job, association members should also know the truth that the bottom line in Aquatics is as much as $80,000 to $100,000 better solely due to the transfer of income from parking to Aquatics and savings as a result of Marty Clarke's insistence on going to tanked propane. As another forum member mentioned, the board should consider selling separate parking passes and separate pool passes at the Beach Club. |
