In fact I think our charging outsiders for our amenities may even be the problem
Not so. The IRS issue was that OPA did not allow non-members to buy beach club passes. Thus, IRS wanted OPA top pay taxes on the profits. What other OPA amenities or facilities are even making $1 profit after adjustment for cost of depreciation? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I may have posted this comment before: I believe our non-profit 501c tax status requires that we make our amenities available to the entire community, not just home owners. obviously tho, we are permitted to charge a fee differential. This seems to be some reference to our tax issues about beach parking a while ago. I still do not get that one or what it means. In fact I think our charging outsiders for our amenities may even be the problem, again I am not sure since I never really got the issue or the outcome since I even hear some conflict of views about the entire thing. |
