I doubt that many home owners in OP will drive over to the Ocean City....in traffic...to go swimming. It's all about the BEACH. Nancy
That leaves me to believe and concur with you that folks who are buying our annual Beach Club Parking Permit are much more inclined to be using the BEACH and not the pool. If the available pool passes had just been used 4 times each that would have totaled 40,000 visits to the beach club pool, a far cry from the approximately 12,000 visits actually used. Carol Hi Carol, In my many years if experience going back and forth, most OP families have "beach days" and "swimming days". What mom is going to pack up all that beach gear and fight the traffic so the kids can do a little swimming? You go to the beach on some week days and leave it for the "tourons" on the weekends. The only beach club swimming is usually a quick dip to get rid of the salt before going home. The best pools are in OP. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I doubt that many home owners in OP will drive over to the Ocean City....in traffic...to go swimming. It's all about the BEACH. Nancy, After thinking about what you said I looked at the monthly financial for October 2015. That report showed Beach Club Parking Permit revenue for the year-to-date of $457,233. The same report also showed a yearly profit of $413,648 after deducting expenses. What I find interesting is the number of parking permit sales it would take to total the $457,233 in revenue that was collected. If you discount some revenue for the daily permit sales along with the possible weekly permit/swimming package sales it might leave approximately $437,500 in revenue from the sale of 2500 Beach Club Parking permits at $175. Since the $175 permits come with 4 swim passes, that would account for 10,000 pool passes for the beach club pool. Ms. Phillips recently posted that the beach club pool had approximately 22,000 visits in 2015 with just over half of those visits utilizing the pool passes that come with the seasonal parking pass. If we had approximately 12,000 visits by individuals using the pool pass provided with the parking permit, that would be 12,000 visits divided by 10,000 pool passes. Seems that the pool passes were only utilized 1.2 times per available passes. |
