To take that one step further, in the instance of the playground, if the Facilities Manager for OP and or the Director of Parks & Recreation do not act on a safety report involving a children's playground, the GM should be considering their replacement.
In fact, they would be fired if they had went ahead and repaired the playground equipment in its current location without GM approval. The GM is responsible for the delay in order to further promote the Manklin Meadows Master Plan. Now he has board authorization to spend up to $150,000 to move the playground and other work associated with Phase One of the project. By the way, the Facilities Manager has no such authority as you suggest, nor, I suspect, does Sonya Bounds in Recs & Parks.. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think that if a GM doesn't act on a safety report on his own, the function of a board is to look for his replacement.
