Some time ago there was a project list that the GM was required to report to the BOD on the progress on monthly. It was abandoned when BT became GM. Director tried to get it reinstated. BT absolutely recused stating he would not micro managed in such a way. By taking this position he took complete responsibility for all projects and when they would be completed. In addition he would report to no one as to what was being done or not done. Today the playground is in need of repairs, bridges need work, country club ac should have been replaced, beach club bath room is a disgrace and the list goes on. You claim that BY is not responsible for any of this. Thoes responsible are the BOD for not instructiing him to get things done or his subordinates for not doing the work. When in your opinion does the person in the top position become responsible? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think that if a GM doesn't act on a safety report on his own, the function of a board is to look for his replacement. To take that one step further, in the instance of the playground, if the Facilities Manager for OP and or the Director of Parks & Recreation do not act on a safety report involving a children's playground, the GM should be considering their replacement. |
