Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Money is No Object Msg# 946075

Bill:
"it will open a window into the smoke and mirrors being used to hide current practices or lack thereof" I am not going to apologies to you for my conduct, or, for that matter, the behavior of management. My guess is I was one of less than three board members who even read the report. You might not remember, but about the time of the playground report the board majority was spending thousands of assessment dollars trying to have me thrown off the board for doing exactly what you suggest. Mr. Terry thought I was being disruptive and uncooperative. I brought in a representative of the manufacturer who told me that the company had corrective kits for all four code deficiencies and that there was no cost for the parts. I passed this information along to the GM. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I absolutely agree that the board should not have to micromanage the GM, but we currently have a GM who cannot be relied upon to even maintain a children's playground. Lacking the votes necessary to replace the GM, the least a director in the minority can do is bring deficiencies to the attention of the membership by making motions such as I suggested. Even if the motion fails, it will open a window into the smoke and mirrors being used to hide current practices or lack thereof. |
