What I do know is if the Facilities Manager is aware that maintenance needs to be accomplished for whatever reason, and fails to act on that information, then the Facilities Manager needs to be held accountable. How does one manage facilities and not be held accountable to act on known maintenance needs?
Why do you continues to make accusations about Jerry Aveta? Is this something personal, or what? Regardless, let's discuss your oft repeated point. Let's suppose Aveta was the FIRST person to see some report on needed playground maintenance. If he stuck it in a drawer and did nothing, perhaps there would be some level of responsibility. However, if he turned that report over to the GM for review and subsequent action decision, I don't see any further responsibility for him. However, we do not know who was the original recipient of this report, nor who initiated the report. What we do know is that well over a year ago the GM was aware of the report. I believe the wood for repairs is already purchased by Public Works. Everyone involved knows maintenance is required. The GM could have authorized the maintenance last year without even asking the board. Aveta has no such authority. The GM chose to do nothing. He chose to do nothing because he was promoting the Manklin Meadows Master Plan and that requires more than playground maintenance; it requires moving the playground. He was finally authorized to make that move at the last board meeting when Phase One of the Manklin Creek Master Plan was approved. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You have no idea what the facilities manager is reporting to the GM as it relates to what needs to be done. Nor do you. The only two who know that is the Facilities Manager and the GM. What I do know is if the Facilities Manager is aware that maintenance needs to be accomplished for whatever reason, and fails to act on that information, then the Facilities Manager needs to be held accountable. How does one manage facilities and not be held accountable to act on known maintenance needs? Maintenance people only do what they are told to do by the GM. Nonsense. |
