Finally, someone who wants to represent the membership as a whole and not just a political faction on the board of directors. Someone who wants to do the right thing for the membership rather than just be identified as part of the majority or minority of the board.
Who has run on a platform of being identified as part of the majority or minority of the board? Or of not wanting to do the right thing? I know of no such person. I do know that three years ago a man who ran on a platform of firing the GM came with 45 or so votes of beating Tom Terry, a sitting president for the prior three years. I do know that in the past two elections those who ran on platforms of controlling the GM have won every director seat with the exception of one, and had one of those candidates urging control last year not seen a DWI charge then it is very likely he, not Jacobs, would be on the board now. So spare us the platitudes about representing the membership as a whole or wanting to do the right thing. I've never seen a board member or a board candidate who would not say the same. |
