Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Money is No Object Msg# 945283

I thought Tom Herrick's motion was not only practical but perhaps the most cost effective manner in which to address the issue. In my opinion, what's wrong with moving the playground, bringing it up to safety specs, re-purposing 2 tennis courts for pickleball, building 2 platform tennis courts and calling it a day with the intent of reassessing the needs in 12-15 months?
Common sense, a pragmatic approach to issues and a reasonably conservative fiduciary stance on spending the association's money ---- what a novel idea. I hope the list of candidates for the upcoming election posses some of these traits. Doug Parks |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The board approved investigating the cost of converting two underutilized tennis courts to pickle ball courts instead of constructing new pickle ball courts. That support for Herrick by Terry, Jacobs and Renaud was just for show. You didn't see that? By the way, it was pickleball courts on two existing tennis courts as well as two new platform tennis courts. That scheme does not comply with what Tom Terry clearly said was a board-approved master plan for Manklin Meadows. That plan will be accomplished unless the results of the coming election of three board members brings in directors who think more like Herrick.. |
